Help Your Child Succeed in School

Whether itís getting little ones excited about books at storytime or building reader confidence at Tail Waggin' Tutors, the Library has many services to help parents and caregivers prepare their children for school success. New Date for New Book Club for Kids & Parents!

Based on patron feedback, the date and time for our newest book club for kids in 1st and 2nd grades with their parents has been changed. The club will now meet the last Thursday of each month from 6-7 PM. The first meeting will be September 25 at 6 PM at Centerville Library. Donít miss this initial meeting when participants will select a name for the new club.

Have a passion for digital photography? Enter the annual Beyond Point & Shoot Photo Contest jointly sponsored by the Washington-Centerville Public Library and the Centerville Arts Commission. Complete contest rules and entry form are online for this contest that runs August 1-28.

Join the Teen Advisory Board

Get involved with your Library and community by serving on the Teen Advisory Board. Assist in planning programs, writing reviews, volunteering and suggesting great books and other materials. TAB is a great way to get community service credit and looks good on college applications. Open to teens in grades 6-12. Applications must be submitted by October 1.

Thank you Summer Readers and Sponsors

More than 4,700 kids, teens and adults participated in Summer Reading Club. A big congratulations to the kids who collectively read more than 16,000 hours and the teens who read a record-number of over 5,000 books this summer. Special thanks to our local businesses who generously donated prizes for this yearís program.

Donít forget! The Centerville Library is open on Sundays in the summer! Woodbourne Library is closed on Sundays from Memorial weekend until after Labor Day and both libraries will be closed on Monday, September 1 for Labor Day. See a complete list of Library operating hours.
