Jewish Cultural Arts & Book Fest

The Library is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2014 Dayton Jewish Cultural Arts & Book Fest, which kicks off October 20. See this year’s schedule or contact the local Jewish Federation to buy tickets!

Meet the Candidates

Meet the candidates running for state and county office, on October 22 at 6:30 PM, before you cast your vote! Each candidate will have three minutes on microphone and are encouraged to meet with voters afterwards. Refreshments will be served. Presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area.

Woodbourne Library Expansion Public Forum

Attend this public session with architect, LWC Inc, on November 1 at 8:45 AM at Woodbourne Library to provide input about Library trends, programs, services and goals for the master plan. Public input will influence the direction of concept plans for the Woodbourne Library expansion.

Race to the Library

Register now for the Friends of Washington-Centerville Public Library Race to the Library 5K Run/Walk and Fitness Walk slated for November 2 at 2 PM at Centerville Library. Early bird registration pricing ends October 15! Proceeds benefit Friends of WCPL.

Photo Contest Winners Honored

See the winning Beyond Point and Shoot Digital Photography Contest entries online and at a public exhibition on October 26 at 2:30 PM at the Centerville Police Department Gallery. Winning photos will remain on display at the gallery through December.

Looking for your next good read? Why not check out one of the books selected for this year’s Dayton Literary Peace Prize. First place prize for fiction goes to The Woman Who Lost Her Soul by Bob Shacochis and nonfiction to Your Fatwa Does Not Apply Here: Untold Stories from the Fight Against Muslim Fundamentalism by Karima Bennoune. Louise Erdrich was selected to receive this years Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award.
