"It was scary. Granted, it's a story that was told in the movie "28 Days Later," but this was well-written. I loved the English slang that was used. I couldn't put it down."

What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a modern day "high tech" scavenger hunt. The only things you need to succeed at Geocaching are a sense of adventure, coordinates and a Global Positioning System (GPS). The goal is to find the cache hidden at the coordinates given. Many travelers seek out geocache opportunities everywhere they visit!

What does a cache (container) look like?
The cache is an airtight, plastic container with items inside:
  • An instruction sheet (please leave inside the container)
  • A log book for you to sign (please leave inside the container)
  • A puzzle piece to take with you and save to prove you’ve been to the cache site
  • A free gift from the library to keep and enjoy!
How to play our Geocache Adventure:
  • Check our Web site each month for new GPS coordinates
  • Every cache site will have something to do with our Library’s history
  • Find the cache site, collect your gift and a puzzle piece
  • Find all 12 caches to win prizes from the Library
  • Put all 12 puzzle pieces into a plastic bag with your name and phone number included. Return your bag to the Reference Desk at either the Centerville or Woodbourne Library by January 7, 2011.
  • Everybody finding all 12 caches will win a free, Great Books, Great Libraries T-shirt!
  • One lucky person will also win a free GPS unit.
  • All prizes will be awarded the second week of January, 2011.
  • Cache coordinates will be posted for 3 months throughout 2010; final coordinates and caches will be removed by the first week of January 2011.
  • A great family activity!
