Attend a Once-in-a-Lifetime Event!

Many special events are planned for the Library's 200th Anniversary Celebration. More events will be added throughout the year. Check back often for event updates!


8/7/2010 - Birthday Blast Celebration!
Frisch Marionette Variety Show
11 AM - 4 PM
Centerville Library
Join the Library at this fun-filled, day-long celebration of our 200th Anniversary. Come for the day, bring family and friends, and have a great time! Featuring performances by the Frisch Marionette Company from Cincinnati and the Hauer Music Swing Band, with birthday cake provided by Centerville Kroger!
Special Times: 11AM-Noon, Marionette Show (indoors)
12:30-3 PM, Music Concert (outdoors)
3-4 PM Marionette Show (indoors)
Bring blankets or lawn chairs.
For all ages

Will Hillenbrand, local author and illustrator from Cincinnati, will be visiting the Library to promote his new book Don’t Slam the Door!, which will be published August 10. Come see how Will illustrates his books and then have your book signed! Book sales provided by Books & Co, a year-long sponsor of our Great Books author visits.

Local young adult author Kristina McBride hosts a writer's workshop at the Library just for teens! Hear how she came up with the idea for her new teen book, The Tension of Opposites, then get started on your own work of fiction.

Read and discuss great books in 2010 as part of our bicentennial celebration. August's book title is Husband and Wife by local author Leah Stewart. The many gray areas of life and marriage are explored when a husband confesses his infidelity. Author Leah Stewart is appearing at the Centerville Library in September! Bring your pup, and your family, to our fundraising festival celebrating man's best friend! Pet-related vendor booths, games, contests and more will be on hand. The courageous are encouraged to wear costumes! All proceeds will benefit the Library and SICSA. The library gratefully acknowledges the following event sponsors: Complete Petmart, Kosins Party and Tent Rental, and musician Rick Fannin.
Special Information: All dogs must be on leash. Event held on the lawn of Centerville Library. A joint program of the Library and SICSA.

Cincinnati author Leah Stewart author of The Myth of You and Me, will introduce her new novel, Husband and Wife (HarperCollins, 2010), at this reception. Copies of her new release will be available for purchase and refreshments provided courtesy of Panera Bread.
