What is QuickTime?
QuickTime is Apple's digital media software for creating, playing, and streaming audio and video content. QuickTime can be downloaded for free from Apple's Web site.

When I try to view a video clip, I see a broken plug-in icon.
Verify that QuickTime is installed on your computer. You can check the QuickTime Troubleshooting Page to verify QuickTime is installed correctly.

The clip is not playing, or the clip only plays for a few minutes at a time.
Many of the QuickTime video clips displayed on our site are large files. If you are using a dial-up connection, it may take several minutes for the clip to load before it starts playing.

If you are using a firewall or a router, streaming audio and/or video may be blocked. If you are trying to access the videos from home, try the steps outlined here. If you are trying to access the videos from work or another organization, check with the System Administrator.

How can I save the clip for viewing later?
Instead of clicking on the link to watch the QuickTime video clip, use your mouse to right-click on the link. A small menu will display. Choose "Save Target As..." from the menu. Choose the location on your computer where you want to save the file and click "Save". The clip will be stored on your computer in the location you chose.
