"I will try." I'm sure you have heard this phrase said by millions of people before. Well, I sure have. Day after day, "I will try, I will try." Have you ever noticed how no one, including yourself hardly ever says simply, "I will"? Well, now I am putting a stop to that for myself. You'll never hear that come out of my mouth again...

Dorothy Yeck had a great good life plan. Hers was, "being good and doing good equals having fun and being happy." I totally agree. My goal is much like this. My goal is to be the best possible person I can be. My definition of "being the best" means a lot of things. I want to be someone who everyone looks to and says, "I want to be just like her!" I want to leave an impact in someones life, and know that I did something very good. I want to be a hero and a role model. Everyone looks to celebrities and such, but do they realize that anyone who helps out in any way is making a difference? So what if I don't become well known! I think it's better that you know you made a difference. "Do not let your right hand know what your left is doing." Jesus states here that what we give is between us and God.

Another small goal will help me with my larger goal. Being optimistic. Optimistic people are always successful. They look at the sunny side of a situation, and they never have a complaint, a negative thing to say, or even think about the option of quitting. I sometimes find myself thinking that I have been defeated, and that I just can't go any farther. I am becoming more aware that I can continue and that I can't give up.

Many people I know of would say that the most important thing it will take to be successful is money. I completely disagree. You could be the poorest person in the world and still make a difference, which is a success. Jesus once told of the story of the poor widow, who gave all her money to the poor. Richer people came by and only dropped in a small portion of what they had.

My faith is very important to me. I believe that since Jesus died to save our sins, that we should give him our best effort every single day. Each day, I want and need to grow closer to God; I can do this by helping others out, rather than being focused on myself. Every time I do something good, I know that Jesus is smiling down, recognizing it. I know that when I do something wrong, Jesus is looking down, knowing that I can do better.
