| My Goal My goal in life is to be a creative writing teacher. I want to teach high school or middle school students. This will help me lead a good life by giving me a purpose. It will also help me lead a good life because I believe I will make a difference in my students’ lives and that I will be more than “just that teacher I had”. I will learn in college about teaching, psychology, and writing. To succeed I will study hard and volunteer at schools to observe the students interactions and reactions. I want to learn about teaching because, well, in order to be a teacher it’s kind of a requirement. I will learn about psychology so I can study the students behavior and know why they act the way they do. I will also study psychology so I will know if a student needs help and, if they need help, how to help tem without making the situation worse. I will learn about writing so I know as much as I can on what I am teaching my students. I also want to learn about writing for the simple reason that writing is something I enjoy doing. I will achieve my goal by working hard to learn as much as I can so I can teach to the best of my abilities. I will volunteer in schools to study how the students interact with other and their teachers. I will also volunteer so I can observe how the students react to different teaching techniques. In order to achieve my goal I need to get over my fear of speaking in front of people and my fear of being wrong. I will get over my shyness by helping out more in school and working harder to make myself heard. I will also get over it by doing more speaking in front of the class when given the option. I will get over my fear of being wrong by impressing upon myself more and more that being wrong is not a horrible thing, that it is just something that happens. I will have help reaching my goal from my family. My family will help me by letting me know when something is wrong without being mean or rude. They will also help me by telling me what I’m doing wrong, not just expecting me to know and fix it. My teachers will also help me because they will help me earn and push me to work harder. I want to be a creative writing teacher because I like kids and I love writing. I would be a good teacher because I am good at correcting things and finding mistakes that other people miss. I can, and will, help my students make their writing better. That is my goal and I will achieve it! |
