Both state and local tax dollars fund Library operations along with donations from patrons.
The Library is funded by the Public Library Fund (PLF), which receives 1.7% of total state tax revenues annually, and a 10-year, 3.0 mil local operating levy approved by voters in November 2011. Both state and local revenue sources support the continuation of the excellent standard of library service in the community.
Several endowments, as well as contributions made to the Washington-Centerville Public Library, serve to support special Library events and activities.
Independent studies confirm that libraries are one of the best values for tax dollars spent. Calculate your savings and support your Library.
