Be a Friend of the Library

Friends of the Washington-Centerville Public Library
The purpose of the Friends of the Washington-Centerville Public Library is to assist the Library with general advocacy and to raise funds for specific, short-term projects. The Friends Group hosts an annual book sale in late April, plans and implements special fundraising events and provides volunteers for some Library-sponsored events.

Friends Events:
Race to the Library 5k/8k
May 20, 2 PM at Centerville Library
Entry fee before April 15: $20 with shirt, $10 without shirt
Entry fee after April 15: $25 with shirt, $15 without shirt
Online registration is now closed, but you can still complete this form and pay by check at either the Centerville or Woodbourne Libraries. Checks should be made out to 'Friends of WCPL'.

A Tasting with Friends
September 13, 6-9 PM at Benham’s Grove
Sample local wines, beer and food at Benham's Grove while meeting local authors at this fundraising event co-sponsored by the Library and Friends of the Washington-Centerville Public Library. Tickets go on sale in July! Details coming soon!

Annual Meeting (March)
The Friends of the Washington-Centerville Public Library invite current members, and those interested in membership to its annual meeting held in March at the Centerville Library. Get a recap of the prior year’s projects and information on current projects and volunteer opportunities.

Allow us to share your library story. Your story is a powerful way to make the case for library support.

Get Involved
Your voice matters! Occasionally, we may ask you to call, write, visit or e-mail your local, state and federal officials in a show of support for library funding. Watch the Library's website for a call to action.

Become a Member of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Applications are accepted from May 1 - October 1, and can be turned in at Woodbourne or Centerville Library. You can find more information about TAB on the Library's Teen website.
